Ohio Barn Sale - Vintage Cooking Equipment
Barn sales are similar to yard or garage sales but unique from them too. The size, for starters. No garage is as big as a barn so there's bound to be more treasures to sift through. The animals present is another distinguishing factor. But because so many people in my area have large barns it also means people have room to store random odds and ends that just couldn't lend that much space to if you live in town. What someone in town might have pitched decades ago could still be alive and well in the barn loft...whether that's Grandma's old ice cream maker, a vintage refrigerator, or enough canning supplies to fill a basement!
Beautiful blue, antique Ball mason jars.
Vintage ice cream maker. This isn't quite old fashioned because it has a motor, but it's the same idea.
Many area farmers used to sell their produce to the nearby Campbell's soup factory. These antique crates were used to store canned soup.
Naturally, barns are right next to fields. You can keep an eye out on the bean crop while you do your shopping.
An older handheld mixer.
Lots of antique tools and equipment for sale and the dairy cows are keeping an eye on things.
In addition to used items, the bakers and makers of the family sell freshly baked bread, cookies, and homemade soaps!
