Farmer Jones Farm Stand at The Chef's Garden

If covid did anything good for Ohio eaters here it is: Farmer Jones opened up a farm stand at The Chef's Garden in Huron. This operates basically like your average Midwestern farm stand: you drive down a country road, see vegetables for sale, pull in, and load up on freshly grown goodness at extremely reasonable prices. But there's a big difference between these vegetables and the others available at road side stands across Ohio: these are the same vegetables going to some of the best chef's in America!

When restaurants started shutting down Farmer Jones and the incredible team at The Chef's Garden had to figure out an outlet for their bountiful produce and the farm stand was born. It was a privilege to shop here - a huge selection of produce and nearly everything available in multiple varieties. You could get orange carrots, or purple or bright red or yellow. There were multiple types of beets, peppers, tomatoes, watermelon, and squash, and lots of hard-to-find items that don't make appearances at most farmers markets in the Midwest such as oca and micro-herbs, and edible flowers.

Farmer Jones has been a judge many times on Iron Chef America and I had been interested in The Chef's Garden ever since I saw him on tv as kid. This is the first time that The Chef's Garden has been open to the general public and well worth a day trip if you are within driving distance! I bought some of nearly everything and the flavor has been exceptional on everything.
